Porch-side Podcast: From acting Hannay to directing “39”

Damon Bonetti

The co-founder of The Philadelphia Artists’ Collective and our director for The 39 Steps, Damon Bonetti, met Brock on our Farmhouse porch for an interview during a break from rehearsal.

Fresh from playing the lead role in Theatre Horizon’s production of “39,” Damon puts on his director’s cap to create our own production of Hitchcock’s classic, this July through August.

“Tune” in to hear Damon’s discuss acting in and directing “39,” and grab a hint of what’s in store for audiences attending the show this summer.

How the Hedgerow Garden Grows!

The Rose Valley residents cherish nature and enjoy gardening as both a hobby and art form.

With the help of the Rose Valley Gardeners, our green-thumbed company members, and volunteers, Hedgerow participates in planting, pruning, and weeding to keep up with this tradition.

As a contribution to the latest improvement efforts,  Andrew Bunting of Fine Garden Creations has graciously gifted us with a beautiful new garden design by Eric Gay, lovely plants, and the manual labor overseen by Marcelino Salvador.

This past week, our company and the Fine Garden Creations team carefully transplanted our original plants to the Farmhouse to make room for the new design.
The gardeners even unearthed a beautiful, old stone wall which complements the garden space.

Enjoy the garden when you visit for The 39 Steps!

Announcing a refreshing HitchCocktail!

Summer is upon us and you know what that means—time for a refreshing, summer drink at D’Ignazio’s Towne House Bar & Restaurant!

Our “39” actors, Matt Tallman and Rebecca Cureton, went to taste test the drink, dubbed the “HitchCocktail” (get it?!) for our upcoming production of The 39 Steps

Matt and Rebecca gave the two “thumbs” up as they sipped on this cool concoction of blue curacao, lemonade, and vodka.

Remember to book your tickets to the show, then try the tasty beverage after you’ve enjoyed the farce!

Toby Farms: End-of-year party

PictureThe Toby Farms students made our
Teaching Artists posters as a “thank you.”

After a full school year of afternoon arts activities, we bid a “Happy summer!” to our Toby Farms after-school students.

Hedgerow Fellows Brock and Joanna spent two afternoons after school every week bringing creativity and play to the students. Activities included acting, improvisation, and dance.

Check out our short video below capturing a practice of some of the cool dance moves Joanna taught!

For information on how you can be involved in our Chester Initiative, please email us at Or if you want Hedgerow to visit your school, contact our Outreach Director, Art Hunter, at

The pointing of the interior is complete! Now it’s time to clean up the dust, paint the deck (for the seats), and install a tech booth, among a few extra tasks to finish before our June 28th Grand Opening. Next week, we will update you on the brand new garden design.

You can see all the marvelous improvements in person this July when we open our summer farce, The 39 Steps.

Helping Hands: Faith, Fellowship and Food

Hedgerow Fellows and Chester community members gather for faith, fellowship, and food.

Faith, fellowship and food were the themes of this past Saturday as our Hedgerow Fellows went out on a mission of love in Chester.

Four of our Fellows gathered in Deshong Park with community members to picnic and pray for the city and its residents. During this time, they even had the opportunity to feed some of the city’s homeless.

To learn how you can lend a hand with us, email
