Meet the Cast of A Christmas Carol

acc2015-247Charles Dickens’ famous story focuses on redemption, family, and the traditions of Christmas. Once a dying holiday, Dickens’ story revitalized the holiday and brought new meaning to an old song. Today, meet Jeremy L. Peyton Jones goes to The School in Rose Valley and is in his second year of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. 
Why do you do A Christmas Carol?
Because I’ve done a lot of other shows at Hedgerow and Hedgerow is always fun!
What is your favorite part?
I like in the beginning when we’re all singing in the dark with candles.
What is your favorite part of the holidays?
I like the songs and the food–oh, and the other things.

Meet the Cast of A Christmas Carol

Anna Tang from Strath Haven Middle School has done a many A Christmas Carol, and returns this year as a veteran. She has been seen in numerous Hedgerow Theatre School productions including Hairspray and Oliver. Check in with her today to find out why she does Dickens’ classic every year.
Why do you do A Christmas Carol?
I love becoming a family with the entire cast
What is your favorite part?
I like it when he wakes up after meeting all of the ghosts.
What is your favorite part of the season?
I love seeing my family and seeing all of the snow.

From misers and ghosts, to family and parties A Christmas Carol speaks to every part of the tradition we love. From November 24 until Christmas Eve we share the story that has made the holidays for Delco for 24 years. Meet Julie Gilligan from Penncrest High School as we welcome her to the Christmas Carol family.
Why did you decide to do A Christmas Carol?
I wanted to do it this year because I love being at Hedgerow, and doing shows here. I specifically love this story, and my Grandpop really loves the story so it’s a tradition to watch the movie together. Right after Hairspray Jr., he asked me if I wanted to see A Christmas Carol here, and I thought it would be a good gift for him to come see me in the story, and experience it in a new way, after all he has done for me.
What is your favorite part of the story?
My favorite parts of the story are the Cratchit scenes because they don’t have much, but they’re thankful for everything that they do have, and they are always high spirited when they are with each other as a family. I also love the ending where Scrooge discovers the true meaning of Christmas.
What is your favorite part of the Holidays?
My favorite parts about Christmas are being with family that you don’t always get to see on a regular basis. It’s also a good time to really be fortunate about what you have, and to help others who maybe aren’t as fortunate as you, to help them experience the joy that everyone should feel during the holiday season. Lastly, I love Christmas carols, and hearing them on the radio.

From Scrooge and Marley to Fan and Belle, the characters of Dickens’ classic are as memorable as the story itself. For years, we’ve introduced audiences of all ages to the miser, ghosts, and dancers of this Christmas classic. Meet Paige Reece from Strath Haven High School who joins the cast of A Christmas Carol  for the first time.
What is your favorite part of the story?
My favorite part of the story is when past takes Scrooge back to see his past and begins to accept who he is.
What is your favorite part of the story?

My favorite part of the holidays is celebrating those Holliday traditions with my family

Tiny Tim, Fezzywig, and the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come are a few of the more memorable characters in Dickens’ tale. Each year, we bring new and old actors to the story we’ve loved fro 24 years. Meet Emily Sampson from Penncrest High School. This is her first year doing A Christmas Carol, and she cannot wait to get started.

Why did you join the cast?
I wanted to do ACC because I really enjoy doing shows at Hedgerow and all of my best friends are here.
What is your favorite part of the story?
My favorite part of the story is when Scrooge gradually realizes that his greediness has effected the past, present, and future.
What is your favorite part of the Holidays?

My favorite part of the holidays is giving to others in need and volunteering to help people in shelters and putting together care packages because everyone deserves a happy holiday season!

The story of a miserly old man redeeming himself is a tale told throughout the centuries, however, no one has told it quite like Charles Dickens. This year, we return to A Christmas Carol for out 24th year. Rachel Dutton from the Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School, and welcome her to her first year of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. 

Why do you do ACC?

I am excited to be doing ACC because after performing Hairspray at Hedgerow Camp this past summer I meet my second family and can’t wait to perform with them again!
What is your favorite part of the story?

When Scrooge realizes he’s greedy.
What is your favorite part of the holidays?

My favorite part of the holidays is being together with you friends and loved ones and the entire happy mood in the air all the time! I also really love snow and family Christmas specials that come on, and I was also born on December 25th.

How did you get started with A Christmas Carol?
I was involved in Hedgerow Theatre’s children’s classes, and when I heard about A Christmas Carol, I decide to try it! I am excited to be part of the show and celebrate Christmas early!
What is your favorite part of the story?
My favorite part of the story is when Scrooge wakes up on Christmas morning and realizes how terrible he was to everyone and he changes.
What is your favorite part of the Holidays?
My favorite part of the holidays is spending time with family and friends, and all of the good food!

Cast of A Christmas Carol

Get to know the cast who make up the massive cast of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. For 24 years, we’ve taken students from our school, community members, and families and taught them the Hedgerow way and crafted Dickens’ story. Meet actor Blake Eckert from Ridley High School:

How long have you been doing A Christmas Carol?
I did ACC the first time when I was 12 years old and I’m now almost 18.
Why do you do it?
I love the feeling of family and the warm environment. The holidays always bring people together in my head and it’s a very positive environment.
What is your favorite part of A Christmas Carol?
My favorite scene is the Marley scene in the beginning because it’s super fun and scary to watch. I love being in the Fezziwih scene the best though.
What is your favorite part about Christmas?
My favorite part about Christmas is definitely the music.
