Hedgerow:  ’Strictly Platonic’ playwright returns with new play reading!

Local playwright Larry McKenna is returning to Hedgerow Theatre for a staged reading of his latest work, The Last Monogamous Man, on Monday, January 27 at 7:30 p.m. McKenna was last at Hedgerow last year for a successful run of the world premiere of his romantic comedy Strictly Platonic

The Last Monogamous Man is also a romantic comedy about a couple named Chris and Maggie, high-school sweethearts who have been together for nine years. “Problems arise, however,” McKenna explained, “when Maggie decides to reenter the dating world, Chris is reluctantly forced to move on…or is he?”

The six actors slated to appear are Brendan Cataldo (who appeared in Strictly Platonic), Mary McNulty, Khalil McMillan, Jenna Kuerzi, Bryan Black and Danielle Mitola. McKenna is also well known in the area as a musician, who has entertained at various Jersey shore locations over the past 15 summers, and as the producer of the New Voices Cabaret series at Society Hill Playhouse.

There is no charge for attending the reading, but donations are welcomed.
