In this program, young performers (ages 8-14) will spend three weeks working as an ensemble to bring a musical to life. From auditions to opening night, students will explore the essential elements of musical theatre - learning music, choreography, staging, and character development. Junior Theater provides exciting rehearsal and performance experiences, culminating in a fully realized musical production.

L. Frank Baum’s beloved story of a young girl’s adventure in a magical land has been entertaining audiences for over a century. This stage adaptation, featuring the characters and celebrated songs from the film, brings the wondrous Land of Oz to life in a jubilant theatrical experience.

Join Dorothy and her loyal companion Toto as they “Follow the Yellow Brick Road” through the Land of Oz, determined to reach the Emerald City, where the great and powerful Wizard of Oz will help them get home. Of course, along the way, Dorothy encounters witches (both good and bad), Munchkins, talking trees and winged monkeys. But most importantly, she befriends three unique characters: a Scarecrow with no brain, a Tin Man with no heart, and a Lion with no “nerve.” Their journey to happiness – and self-awareness – is a glowing testament to friendship, understanding and hope in a world filled with both beauty and ugliness.

Musical Theatre Camp (ages 8-14) July 7 - 27
Monday - Fridays from 9:00am – 3:00pm

Performances will be held on the Hedgerow stage as follows:
July 25 at 3:00pm - Invited Dress Rehearsal - for camp families only no tickets needed (camp will dismiss after the run through)
Saturday, July 26 at 10:30a + 12:00p
Sunday, July 27 at 12:00p

Tuition
Junior Theatre Camp fee: $960 for three week session
Class registration includes four total complimentary tickets to be redeemed for any of the performance dates.

Aftercare available Mondays-Fridays from 3-4:30pm.

Note: Summer camp for The Wizard of Oz: Youth Edition overlaps with summer camp for A Year With Frog & Toad KIDS by one week. If you would like to enroll your child in 2 sessions of Hedgerow summer camp, we suggest enrolling in camp sessions 1 & 3 or camp sessions 2 & 3.
